From Tom Friese in memory of Diane Friese Camden.

After high school Diane worked in New York for J. Walter Thompson Advertising and ABC News. Three years later she met the man she would marry, John Camden, and followed him to England.

Diane has two daughters, Kimmie and Kerry, and both live in London.  Diane spent her married life supporting her husband in his busiess, The Ready Mix Concrete Ltd. Although she had no official role in the business, she was a major influence. She organized major social event at least four times each year in the European business community. Guests included heads of state, top entertainers and business leaders such as Margaret Thatcher and Elton John. She set up these events to increase business, and top companies from throughout the world attended the events - she was a mover and shaker. She bridged gaps between people, companies and even countries. She set up condos throughout the world for social events as well. She would meet with top executives in her husband's company (he was chairman) and "explain" to them how her husband worked, encouraged them, and would give them friendly advice. Probably her greatest accomplishment is that she stood up to the snobbery and bigotry among the upper class in the company and eventually created an open, fair and friendly atmosphere throughout the company worldwide. Her "enemies" held my hand at the funeral and said, "let me tell you about your sister." She had completely won them over. The floor on which the casket rested in her church was the very spot that Druids worshipped in the 1200s. She received letters from all over the world when she was sick. Elton John sent her a personal CD. Her chauffer told me she was the "true Diana" of England. It is quite a story. She was deeply loved by so many. Sadly she died of Lung Cancer.

Diane was always a class act even in high school. We all expected great things from her and were not disappointed. It is so sad that the family lost so many to cancer.
